about

If you've seen the movie “The Big Lebowski” you will probably appreciate this song slightly more than someone who hasn't seen it. The title and really the whole concept of the song is my tongue in cheek homage to the film. I will digress for a moment and highly suggest that you see the film if you haven't already, it's one of my favourites (if you hadn't already guessed).

The idea for this song actually first popped up in about 2011, so this is a song idea that I've been kicking around for a while and typically if something is lingering around that long I stray away from it because I figure it will sound stagnant, I really don't think that was the case for this song. After asking a couple friends for some help, the drum tracks were laid down December 21st with the talented Rob Kee (Tokyo Sandblaster, ex-Died Electric) behind the kit at The Stereo Collective (home studio run by the very capable Mike Smith) and after a couple other sessions in January to put the last few touches on things I'm pretty pumped with the result. It's been over a year since I've been able to release anything officially and of a quality I can say I'm proud of, being across the ocean for most of last year didn't help that fact.

I'm asking a dollar for this song but honestly if you ask me personally for the audio file I will give it to you for free. The most important thing to me is having my music reach ears that appreciate it and getting feedback, so even if you've read these notes up to this point, listened to the song and it wasn't for you, please do me a favour and share it with people who you think might be into it. Thanks everyone! - Ben

Merci! - Ben

lyrics

You don't have a single thought to defend
A blank stare and no personality is heaven sent
You got nothing to say but it doesn't matter anyway
If it ends in y it's just another meaningless day

Believing in nothing must be exhausting
Believing in something just ain't for you
Believing in nothing must be exhausting
From a nihilistic point of view

You can't start whining, when things ain't fair
Cut off a toe trying to become a millionaire
If you're fucking it up, well don't worry it's O.K.
When there's no point, what more can you say?

Believing in nothing must be exhausting
Believing in something just ain't for you
Believing in nothing must be exhausting
From a nihilistic point of view

The world it seems, is passing you by
Your time is up, nothing more to try
Too self absorbed and no one to blame
A waste of space and air, your claim to fame

Believing in nothing must be exhausting
Believing in something just ain't for you
Believing in nothing must be exhausting
From a nihilistic point of view
